t can be! And I'm excited to curate the best healthy take out options in Charlotte with @finer_with_thyme this month!

Restaurants need our business and support now more than ever. January is always the restaurant industry's slowest month as most start to focus on their health again. But this January, 10 months into the pandemic... It's going to be unprecedented for the restaurant industry. If we want our favorite establishments to survive, we NEED to support them.

I hope you'll follow along on both of our accounts this month! @finer_with_thyme

If there is a restaurant you'd like to see featured, shoot us a DM. We will even feature some Whole30 compliant options.

In the meantime, here are are my top tips for ordering healthy take out:

🥡Forget anything fried. If it's fried, it's off limits. Deep fried, pan fried... stay away! 🚫

🥡Prioritize veggies. If an entree comes with two sides always ask for double veggies. No mashed potatoes, fries, pasta, risotto, etc. 🥦

🥡Hold the cheese. Restaurants use WAY too much dairy/cheese. It makes food delicious, but it's not going to help your health or waistline. And for anyone doing Whole30 this month, it's not compliant. 🚫

🥡Salads with dressing on the side are always your friend. Make sure you ask for no croutons/no cheese. 🥗

🥡Skimp on sauces. Always ask for sauce on the side, or at least less sauce. And always ask for dressing on the side. #sauceontheside

🥡If you want to indulge in a splurge entree... as soon as you get it home, place half the entree on your plate and immediately put the other half in the fridge to have the following day. Portion control!

🥡This is a rule not just for take out... Always fill your plate in this order - protein, fat, fiber. Limit starch and sugar! 🍽️
