Let's Normalize Pandemic Weight Gain

Did you gain weight this past year?

I am up a size since covid started. Why am I telling you this?

Because we need to normalize pandemic weight gain.

Why the weight gain? What's different? I'm a health coach, so how did this happen?

-I'm working out about the same amount....

-I'm eating just as healthy as I was last year... (I'm not an emotional eater)

So what do I attribute this weight gain to?

-Is it the stress of homeschooling, working from home, etc? Maybe... 🤔

-Is it being depressed with the state of the world? Maybe... 🤔

-Is it the fact that my lifestyle completely changed in the blink of an eye last March, and I've been living this new "at home all the time" lifestyle I didn't sign up for for almost an entire year now against my will? Bingo! ✅✅✅

Not much has changed with my calories in vs. calories burned ratio. But my lifestyle has changed entirely!

I'm largely inside my house all day all the time with two young children... going on a year now. So of course I'm going to gain weight. Duh!

I'm grateful to wake up everyday and be healthy, and if that's with a few extra quarantine pounds... so be it. I know those pounds aren't here to stay.

I just want to let my fellow #pandemicmoms who may also be up a size (or two) know... You are not alone! I see you. You're doing the best you can. Things are out of control and out of our control. We'll get through this, and get back to it!

Xoxo,

A health and wellness professional

(who is also up a size)
