Quiet Tree Time - Vandy Fam Christmas Tradition

With children and a puppy, there are no silent nights for Mr. and Mrs. Vandy during Advent. 😂

The month of December is fraught with busyness, stress, to do lists and anxiety... Especially for moms! 🧾✅🧾✅
My favorite holiday tradition our little family has is quiet tree time. Every night during Advent, we dim the lights, put on quiet Christmas music, light a candle near our manger, and quietly sit as a family looking at our tree. 🎄
Some nights are quieter than others depending on the mood our children are in.... It's a mixed bag. But we try! And I have to say, it's wonderful for our family's overall health and wellbeing during the holiday season.
At this time of year, the kids are hyped up on 🎅 and sugar. Dad is busy closing year-end deals. Mom is making all the magic happen on top of everything else. So much prepping, so much anticipation, so much, so much, so much.
It's nice to slow down at the end of every day together and quietly focus on the angel on top of our tree, the reason for the season in the center of our manger, and the light our tree shines into our cozy living room. 🙏
We hope that through this family tradition, our girls learn to incorporate slowing down into their own Advent seasons - and into their every day lives.
Every night, instead of prepping for Christmas, we are being prepared for Christmas - believing, watching, and waiting... quietly. 🤫 (Mom really likes the quiet part!)
